FREE PROGRAM FOR MOTHERS

“Help Me at Home: Positive Techniques for Parents of Children with Autism”

This program, funded through a grant from The Women's Fund of Winston Salem, will provide FREE Saturday classes for mothers of children with autism. and will include respite care and lunch for their children (children with autism and siblings).

"Help Me at Home" classes will be held one Saturday a month from January to November 2010 (11 classes) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Respite care for child(ren) with autism and their sibling(s) will be provided, as well as lunch for children and mothers.

Admission criteria includes a recent diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder including pervasive development disorder (PDD), Asperger's syndrome, a determination at risk for an autism spectrum disorder, or showing characteristics of an autism spectrum disorder.

The program has rolling admission and is available to families in Forsyth and surrounding counties. If you are interested in this program, please fill out an application for admission indicating your interest or contact Amy Vestal for more information (336.251.1180 ext. 107).
