Fall 2006

Preparing to Move!

ABC of NC staff and a group of dedicated volunteers have been hard at work preparing for the move to our new location at 3904 Old Vineyard Road. Many projects are being completed including cleaning of the building, preparing for inspections, and securing in-kind donations. We anticipate opening in our new location in January of 2007!

A special thank-you to those volunteers and staff who have helped with these projects:

2006 Annual Fall Carnival

The 2006 ABC of NC Fall Carnival was held the evening of October 26th and was a huge success with record attendance. Dedicated ABC of NC staff could be found dressed in a variety of costumes designed to entertain and engage our students.

Some of the favorite staff costumes were: Teletubbies, Clifford, Madame Blueberry, Dora the Explorer, and the Wiggles. Many of our students were also in costumes including a bodybuilder, Spiderman, Veggie Tales, pumpkins, and a french painter. The "best costume" award was given to teacher, Michelle Turner, for her amazing home-made "Naughty-Noo-Noo" (from the Teletubbies) costume that thrilled both students and staff alike!

Our students enjoyed a variety of fall festivities including bobbing for pumpkins, fishing for prizes, folk songs, marshmallow roasting, apple glazing, and pumpkin stamping.
